About Summer Light

Summer Light takes place in August at Camp Bob Marshall in the southern Black Hills of South Dakota. Guides and accessible facilities make this a fun and accommodating adventure for those who want to boat, bicycle, fish, and hike, or simply enjoy the sunshine, campfires, and camaraderie.

 What to expect at Camp Bob Marshall

Wheelchair accessible facilities include a shower and toilet facility, main lodge for meals and gathering, and one sleeping cabin with nine bunkbeds. Bottom bunks are reserved for those who need accessible beds. Other one-room cabins with bunk beds housing up to 18 people are available for those without accessibility needs.

Tandem bikes are available for visually impaired participants to ride with a guide. Canoes, kayaks, and a paddle boat, along with fishing gear and life jackets are also available. All boating on the lake is non-motorized.

A South Dakota Fishing License is required for those who intend to fish. Purchase online ahead of time here.
